Fêtes...
Here
in the South of France, summertime
means fêtes! And every town
and village has
some kind of celebration between June and September.
Bayonne hosts the most
renowned festival in the area, but Navarrenx itself hold a series of
fêtes
throughout the summer.
The
“Meuhzik” festival in June begins the season, then
the Saumonade fête held on 14 July celebrates the fishing
tradition as teams
compete to cook a salmon and theme their menu and table in the most
imaginative
way.

The
Fêtes de Navarrenx in early August bring
the town very much to
life
and bring all
generations out to party!
Nearby,
Salies holds the Fête du Sel, and in
late July, Audaux fills the
sky with its
hot air balloon festival.
Pau
and Orthez also hold several music festivals throughout the summer.
